Promentum is frequently asked to execute an audit of the Dynamics AX implementation. Sometimes on behalf of Microsoft, sometimes on request of the customer but most often requested by the partner. Simply to give the end-user a guarantee that the implementation done is a successful one. Our audit program, consisting of several modules which can be bought and executed separately, and are useful whether or not the customer has to go live, or is already using Dynamics AX for some years. We are able to carry out all modules in a time frame from a couple of days to a maximum of 3 weeks. The result: a report, recommendations and a presentation.

Modules
Promentum offers the following modules:

-         Application X++ code Review
We check to see if the code is delivered according to the best practice, and whether it complies with the directives Microsoft upholds creating AX Code: The directive is called CfmD and stands for Certified for Microsoft Dynamics.

-         Application Integration Review (AIF / BizTalk)
We do not just evaluate the interface logic, but we also examine the completion of the interfaces. We can see whether there are dependencies,  long waiting periods, and we perform a stress test.

-         Application Configuration & Hardware Review
With this review we examine how different servers (AOS, IIS, SQL DB, SQL AS, Batch Servers, etc.) are installed and configured together and if load balancing, backup, emergency scenarios, firewalls, hosting and client configuration have been taken into account.

-         Application administration & Security Review
We check the entire security. Not only the legal structure in Dynamics AX, but also that of the Server, Firewalls, Access, Active Directory, SQL security, etc.

-         Application Performance Review

With this review we focus purely on application performance. We find out whether there are deadlocks, long run queries, and trace whether wrongly configured tables are responsible for any performance issues.

-         Application Implementation / Process Review

We take a look at customization, the parameter values, the layout of the administration, global use of data, the deployment template, etc.
